Getting Close
So I really haven't been any better at this blogging thing but I will always try. Lots of stuff has gone on since my last post. Bill and I are still looking for a place to live. We are in week two of waiting to see if we will be able to rent a house in Fontana but in the mean time we keep looking every weekend. On Saturday we paid off our flowers and finalized everything with them, went to the venue to pick out the table runners and had all the guys fitted for their tuxes. Other than that I've been really caught up in my finals. Had the first of 8 tonight and I have two tomorrow. My next stop on the wedding check list is to pay the cake off on Thursday and start getting our ceremony music all organized in one area. I already have the seating chart done which is a load off but after all the music is figured out I need to move right on to a list of shots for our photog. So glad I got the good news that my clinicals will be the first two weeks of break and not the last two so I can actually enjoy the week of our wedding....I just have no idea where I will be driving to during those two weeks. Time will tell : )

Worst Blogger Ever!
So I think I win the title of worst blogger ever. I've been so busy with school that I haven't had to time to talk about my wedding. Everything is planned and paid for (yea!) so now it's just up to the little things like hair, make-up and pre-wedding pampering. Bill and I are currently looking for houses to rent. We have been looking for a month now and finally found two places we like. We are seeing one this Thursday and hopefully we will get a call back from the other house to set up a walk through sometime this week. It is so much fun watching everything come together and to start getting a glimpse of my married life with Bill.
My bridal shower was this past Saturday and it was a blast. Bill's mom threw it for me and they did some really fun things. They dressed me up in a ridiculous apron and made a cute DVD for Bill and me that included pics of us when we were kids. We got a lot of things for our potential home and I can't wait to use them all : ) Also about a week ago we started getting our first wedding presents. I am just having so much fun right now and am glad that classroom instruction or this semester is ending in 5 weeks. I will try to get better at my blogging (hopefully once a week?).

Wedding Planning Slump

I can't believe how slow these past four months have been going. Bill and I have been concentrating on putting as much money as we can towards the wedding that we haven't done anything new since my last post. I did get a few little things done over this time though. Last month my bridemaids and I looked at dresses and the seemed to like the style pictured here. I'm hoping that next month I can get everyone together again to look at another shop. Hopefully by the end of August I'll have a good idea of what dress to have them order that way everyone has plenty of time to save money and get them ordered on time.
I also happen to find these adorable shoes on sale at JC Penny's. I decided that they will be the shoes I wear at the reception. I don't want to wear them for the ceremony because I'm afraid the heel will be stuck in the grass and then I'll have to leave it behind : )Other than these two things it's really be quiet on the planning front. I'm still looking through magazines and websites to see if there are any new ideas out there. Bill and I gave up fast food and sweets starting May 21st of this year. I wanted to cut them out a year before to see if I could get rid of the little pooch I have so my dress fits better and Bill decided to do it with me so he could support me :) What a sweetie he is! Since today is a month since we stopped I have to admit it was a hard month. The first two weeks weren't a problem. Last week was the worst because it was my graduation so everyone was taking me out and getting me cakes. Plus it didn't help that my exercise routine has been somewhat less than stellar. I'm hoping to change that all now. This week is the start of the second month of my pre-wedding slim-down (more inches than pounds) and I want to start it off right. I know once I get my exercise back in line then I won't feel that cravings as bad because I like the benefit of feeling healthier and having more energy better than a chocolate chip cookie : )

They're Here!

I am so excitied! Our Save The Date's came in last Wednesday. They are just perfect. I ordered them from vistaprint.com and am so thrilled with the quality. I am definatley going to be using them for the wedding invitations.
Other than getting the Save The Date's the only other wedding related thing I've done is order our table numbers. I found some cute ones on ebay. They are pink and orange bordered with a pink gerbera daisy in the center. How perfect are they for our wedding? I've also been looking at cake toppers as well. Found someone who could possible make the custom ones we want but it will cost us a pretty penny. As more progresses I'll try to keep everyone updated : )

A Long Break...
Sorry I haven't been blogging in awhile. School and work has been hectic but I have gotten more stuff done with the planning. We know who we want to do our flowers and have a pretty good idea of who will do our photography. We also put down a deposit down on our ceremony and reception venue. We have decided to get married at the Oak Quarry Golf Course in Riverside. It is absolutely gorgeous and also a very intimate place for our reception. I also ordered our Save The Date notices last weekend and they were shipped yesterday. I can't wait to get them even though I won't send them out until November : ) I love having so many things figured out but I'm afraid I'm gonna start getting bored in a couple of months. I'll try to keep you all in the loop as the planning continues. I'll include a picture of the Save The Dates when I get them : )

I Got My Dress!
I haven't been doing much in the planning process because I've been busy with school. I decided to make an appointment at David's Bridal today to make up for the lack of planning and to just have fun. Who knew I would actually find "the" dress. I would describe it but I don't want Bill to decide he wants to read the blog and find out what it looks like. I can basically say that it was not one I would have ever chosen for myself. I was looking for classic, simple dresses and Bill's mom found the dress we actually purchased. I tried it on and was like "this is a lot of dress!" At first I thought it was too much for me and I would just take it off. But the more I wore it and the more I looked at it with a veil and tiara and shoes I just fell in love with it. I'm just so happy and excitied that I can make a checkmark on my checklist on this big item. It's so nice to have something so big accomplished with a lot of time left 'til the wedding.
Bill and I also saw a florist this morning. I loved the people and know I can be comfortable if we decide to use them. Their prices were also lower than the first florist we visited and she wrote it all down and showed me flowers she was thinking of using which really helped me envision what was inside her head. I feel like the next big thing Bill and I need to tackle is a cake. I really don't want to spend more than $200 on a cake so I really want to shop around so I know I'm gonna get the best bang for my buck. That part will be fun...i love tasting cake : )

Starting Another Week of Planning

So this past weekend was chalk fun of planning excitement! On Friday afternoon we met up with my bridesmaid Kristin and she took some engagement shots for us. They came out beautifully! We got them on Saturday afternoon and have enjoyed looking through them everyday since. Then on Saturday we had three appointments booked with different venues. The first two were very pretty with a very hefty price tags. One place had a $7,000 minimum for the food portion. Where do people get off?!?
We also had some time to look at florist is the area to get an idea of what that was going to cost us. We made an appointment with one for the end of the month and the other place gave us ball park figures. I can't believe how much it costs for a centerpiece of daisies. So I have basically decided that the centerpieces will be DIY : )
The last two places we checked out were perfect. They were within our budget and very nice. One venue we can have both the ceremony and the reception at which I absolutely love. I have pretty much fallen in love with this place and will sacrific what's needed to make it work : ) We have another alternative that we are looking at but hopefully my the end of next month we will have made a decision and a deposit on our venue(s).
I also had a mini little freak out on Sunday. I told my mom about the site that I love and she looked at me as if I told her the wedding was going to be a million dollars. I'm not expecting her to foot the bill but with her reaction I started feeling as if I was selfish and got down on myself. Poor Bill had to deal with me but talked me down and after wallowing for a day I woke up this morning in a better mood with some great ideas.
Not too much on the planning schedule this week. I looked up some ideas for centerpieces today and saw some invitations that I love so as soon as we book our venue I'll get those rolling. Granted it is sixteen months away but I guess it can't hurt to have it done : ) I might go the the Dollar Tree tomorrow before work and pick up a few things to see how my ideas will work out. Other than that I think I'm gonna catch up on some magazine reading. I've got six that have been neglected because of the busy weekend.
